Hastinapur wildlife sanctuary

In 1986, Hastinapur Sanctuary was set in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The sanctuary is spread in 2073km and features wild animals containing sambhar, blue bull, antelope, leopard, cheetal, hyena, wild cat and different kinds of birds. You can also enjoy while seeing some alligators.

Attractions:

The muddy land on the bank of River Ganga makes this sanctuary a paradise for migratory birds. Over 350 varieties of birds are seen here such as crane, painted stork, black & white necked stork, sarus as well as night birds of prey, series of the immense Indian horned owl to the jungle owlet, colorful woodpecker, barbet, kingfisher, minivet, bee-eater and bulbul.

Hastinapur National Park is rich in flora and fauna as of the different kinds of environmental places placed in the reserve. The main things you will find here are mammals, amphibian butterflies, Scorpions, reptiles, Centipedes, Odonata, Hymenoptera, birds, and others. The national bird Peacock is in plenty.

Best time to visit:

Well the sanctuary can be traveled round the year. Goddess Shakambhari Temple, Mukteshwar Dham, Akshayavat, Nishiya Ji, Lord Shankar Temple, Shukdev Temple, Victoria Park, Kali Paltan Mandir are some attractions to discover around the sanctuary.

By Air : Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi is the closest airport located at a distance of 110 kilometers.

By Rail : Meerut railway station will be the nearest place if you are coming from the train and from here the sanctuary is located at a distance of 30 km.

By Road : Roads are linked to national highway 45 that passes through Hastinapur Sanctuary.

Stretched in beautiful surroundings, the Hastinapur Sanctuary is a home of many wild animals’ different kinds of birds. Blue Bull and Swamp Deer are the major attraction of here. With all the amazing things to see, the Hastinapur National Park offers you diverse fauna. The sanctuary is best to visit between January to June. There are a number of amazing and wonderful spots within the sanctuary. A number of people visit the place from nearby or distant places to enjoy calm evenings. The sanctuary with its plentiful wild species is a favorite gateway for locals to click some pictures as well.
