Day 03 : Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot (32 Kms. Drive +10 kms Local Taxi drive+ 6 Kms. Trek, one way)
Tour to Hanuman Chatti, and then take a local jeep ride to Janki Chatti. This is the point where you start hiking from the trek to Yamunotri. You must be healthy hike mountain trails of 6 kms. If he could not walk you can hire horses or palanquins.
Yamunotri Dham :
The sacred origin of the river Yamuna, Yamunotri is one of the four Hindu pilgrimage dhams of Char Dham, and the first stop on the itinerary of Char Dham. It is famous for its glaciers and natural springs. It is said that Asit Muni, used to worship the Hindu sage here. The temple of Yamunotri is located on the left bank of river Yamuna (source) and built by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal.
On arrival at Yamunotri have a holy dip in the natural spring and then offer puja at the temple of Yamunotri. The deity is Yamuna Devi. After darshan, drive back to Janki Chatti, then take the jeep ride to the Barkot. Overnight.
